The Parallels Between User Experience Design and Music Production
I think I came out of the womb singing, and my second grade teacher Mrs. Watson confirmed that when she called home to tell my mom “Freddy won’t sit at his desk and is always singing”
My mom said “Well is he bothering the other students?”
Mrs Watson: “Well… no..”
My mom “Well, what’s the problem here?”

Music runs in my family, my mom plays piano, organ, and bassoon, and both parents are in the choir.
All my siblings and I had to take piano and string instrument lessons for four years and sing in the junior choir at church. This was not a choice. I was the rebel and played the sit-down instrument, the cello! Back then, I hated it, but now I’m so thankful for it.
When I was 8 years old, my uncle gave me a Casio keyboard, and I was hooked on making electronic music.
I started writing my first crude songs in high school using a slightly better Casio, these toy Yamaha drum pads, and two boomboxes to make (very bad sounding) multitrack recordings.
In college, I took a music production class, then saved up for my first synthesizer, and I’ve been making EDM (Electronic Dance…
